As a Co-Chair (2024-2025 school year):

  • Plan the third annual Taste of Marion Street Event

  • Build agendas and facilitate meetings with co-chair

  • Brainstorm ideas for a new event: Family Pride Event, an event meant to welcome, support and celebrate non-traditional families. Details TBD.

  • Launching a quarterly cultural handout initiative, highlighting different cultures, honoring them and making connections

As a committee member since 2021:

  • Member of the first Marion Street DEI committee

  • Planned and executed Marion Street’s inaugural and subsequent Taste of Marion Street (TOMS) events: a celebration of all cultures within the community through food, music and traditional clothing

  • Designed the TOM’s children’s passport

  • Committee efforts resulted in 100% increase in event participants from 2023 to 2024

  • Taste of Marion Street Cookbook - a joint effort with other committee members to create a recipe book that represents the Marion Street neighborhood via community collection

2015 - foreseeable future

Since September 2015 I have experienced countless attempts to maintain my sanity. With this all-consuming position I have:

  • Significantly improved my wrestling technique by way of dressing toddlers

  • Acquired consistent, intermediate level of pasta boiling and veggie cutting

  • Frequently danced awkwardly, but also enthusiastically

  • Gained a working knowledge of Pokemon characters

  • Skillfully replaced expletives with phrases like, “monster trucker,” “lint licker,” and “crud bucket” whilst driving

  • Effectively discerned a “good packing box” from a “meh” packing box on a daily basis (and continue to do so)

  • Increased enthusiasm for home appliances by 62%

  • Procured a level of humility I did not think possible

Prior to graduating from Northeastern University I completed internships in which I worked primarily with individuals who were some combination of the following: Deafblind, developmentally disabled, with behavior issues.

Perkins School for the Blind

I worked in the residence buildings with a group of three students after they returned from school for the day. Primarily, we focused on:

  • Their afternoon activities

  • Practicing their picture communication

  • Dinner

  • Evening activities

  • Nighttime routine, including personal care.
